Teaching in NYC last week, I got a few photos of these people. The safety vests and everyone else in black made for a dazzling, out of my series, painting subject.
But never one to leave a fine painting alone I tipped the people by cutting the paper cockeyed and making a few leaning marks in the figures. A more dynamic painting.

I am so inspired! I never thought of purposely tilting the subject for effect, although sometimes things get wonky just because I have trouble drawing a straight line (which I think are highly over-rated anyway).
